As a department, we envision having an interdepartmental corporation with various leaders and other key stakeholders in the Ministry with an aim of improving the Sabbath School services and making it a home for everyone.
We also have in place a program where we shall actively involve the members in a rotational program by incorporating Sabbath School class teachers and Coordinators in conduct of Sabbath school activities.
HOW TO achieve OUR SABBATH SCHOOL objectives
- In our plans, we are intending to dedicate the first 5 minutes of each lesson to plan, pray and share:
- We Plan to visit, pray, care for missing or hurting members, and distribute religious literature materials in collaboration with the publishing director.
- Pray and discuss ways to minister to the needs of church families, inactive members, youth, women, men, and various ways to get the church family involved.
- Pray and discuss ways of reaching our community, city, and world, fulfilling the Gospel Commission by sowing, reaping, and keeping. Involve all ministries in the church as you plan short-term and long-term soul-winning projects.
- Sabbath School is about intentional acts of kindness, making members actively get involved in the day-to-day conduct of our services. The following are some practical ways we are intending to employ to become personally involved:
- Develop the habit of finding needs in our community.
- Make plans to address those needs.
- Pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
- Lesson Study. Encourage members to engage in individual prayer and Bible study— make study of the Bible in Sabbath School participatory. Study for transformation, not information.
Future plans
As a department, we have the following proposed activities to be achieved within a reasonable time
- Talent identification and Mentorship. We have realized that there are many members in the church who are richly talented in various aspects but they are unable to explore their talents due to the limited chance given to them by the church. Through Sabbath School Programs, we shall be able to identify individual capabilities of our members and we shall recommend them for further training to become ministers of the gospel.
